Learn About Our Services

Vascular Lab Procedures

This procedure specializes in diagnosing vascular diseases that may affect how well the blood flows in the arteries and veins. The lab examines blood vessels throughout the body that feed major organs and tissue. We hope to diagnose and detect vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, stroke, and aneurysms.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment that involves the patient breathing a more pure form of oxygen and is delivered in a small, pressurized chamber. Pressure can be up to three times higher than normal conditions making the lungs more efficient at gathering oxygen to utilize in the body.

When a patient experiences tissue damage, oxygen plays a crucial role in fighting infection and minimizing an injury. There are currently 13 uses for HBOT that the FDA has approved for treatment.

Nuclear Stress Testing

Nuclear stress testing uses a small amount of radioactive material and an imaging machine to create pictures showing the blood flowing to your heart. This diagnostic tool shows how well your heart responds when forced to work harder and pump more blood out to your body.

Let our vascular specialists perform these stress tests in our Southgate, MI, office. Request an appointment today.

Peripheral Rehab

Our practice focuses our rehab services on improving blood flow to your legs to reduce painful symptoms from peripheral artery disease (PAD).

Limb Salvage

If you’re one of the 8.5 million people with peripheral artery disease (PAD), your risk of losing a limb to amputation is substantially higher than most. Holter Monitor

A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that continuously records your heart’s electrical activity over 24 to 48 hours. It helps detect irregular heart rhythms that may not show up during a standard EKG. At Downriver Heart & Vascular Specialists, we use Holter monitors to gather detailed data about your heart’s rhythm during your normal daily activities.

Event Monitor

An event monitor is a portable device used to record your heart’s activity when you experience symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, or chest pain. Unlike a Holter monitor, it records only when activated—either automatically or by the patient. Our team uses event monitoring to identify intermittent arrhythmias and guide your treatment plan.
